Shoes, lets get some shoes.

Getting shoes is not as easy as Liam Sullivan's 2007 hit made it sound. This week I have been on a hunt for the perfect black sandals. I wanted something casual and not too flashy. Who knew this would be such a difficult task. I tried two malls, target, and online and I was coming up dry. Either they were out of stock, or expensive or just down right unattractive. I guess I was being a little bit picky, but I knew I was going to be wearing these A LOT. Do you guys have staple shoes that you just wear a ton? That is what I was looking for. I found some cute ones that happened to also be comfortable, they were black but had little gold button/ stud things on them (pretty sure that description was awful.) The only problem was I don't wear that much gold. If there were silver I would have totally bought them. Very discouraged hubs and I returned home. Here is the good part though...Today I came home from a long day of work and Devin said he had a surprise for me. He opened the door to the bed room and sitting on our bed were shoes that I liked...but wait something was different. The buttons weren't gold...they were silver. He had painted each individual button so I could have the shoes I wanted. I was completely  blown away by how sweet he had been. Don't you just love it when your hubby does EXACTLY the right thing?

Indecisive...which camera??

I've decided it is time to upgrade to a nicer camera. I have LOVED my sweet little blue one, but now I'm moving on to the big world of DSLR. I don't need something super duper fancy, but something that takes quality pictures and will last a LONG time. Through my research I've found that the Canon EOS Rebel t3i looks like the best for my needs...but i'm calling on the help of my blogging buddies for advice. I know that many of you also have an alter ego as amazing photographers. Do you have a camera brand or style that you prefer? I would love for your to share your knowledge!!

P.S. Lately I have had an obsession with the Beach Boys (it must be summer.) Are any of you going to the Stadium of Fire on the Fourth? If so I'm insanely jealous and say hi to Brian Wilson for me!

The many faces of Devin

Devin finally looked at my blog and noticed that I had neglected posting the pictures of all of his strange faces...So this post is devoted to a few of his funny faces he's made.

This was the night that Devin proposed. Even with this crazy face I still said YES!

We took these pictures pretty early on in our relationship, my best friend was in a photography class and needed models. Devin definitely showed his character :)

I was teasing him about how he always has his eyes closed in pictures, so he made sure they were WIDE open.

Oh he is so tough.

I think this maybe my favorite. I love that he makes me laugh. As cheesy as this sounds he is my perfect  guy and his funny faces are one of the many reasons I fell in love with him! (PS it was halloween hence my weird orange pumpkin smock.)

Thanks for visiting!

Zermatt

This weekend my family and I took a much needed escape to the Zermatt Resort in Midway. We had such an amazing time and the hospitality was amazing. For most of the weekend it was just Devin and I and my parents, but Madi finally showed up Saturday night after she got home from Trek. (I was glad she took a shower before I saw her ;))
I have been a mega slacker lately at taking pictures so I made it a point this trip to take a few...here it our weekend in pictures :)

Our gorgeous hotel room!

Isn't my husband so handsome?? I sure think so!

As soon as we arrived we had to head over to what they called "The Reception." We tried some yummy drinks (don't worry we got the virgin ones) and tasty appetizers. I was super grateful because I'd skipped lunch. Afterwards we headed to a wonderful German dinner and a soak in the pool.

The delicious Crab Cakes they served.

His farmers tan only got darker after this trip!

I'd like to introduce my cute parents! Lonzo and Susan. In this picture they are comparing the tanness (i don't think that's a word) of their legs. Mom will beat him every time.

The next day we took a ride on the Heber Valley Railroad AKA The Heber Creeper. It really made me appreciate the beauty that is so close to home. Utah is a gorgeous place!

Halfway through the train ride we walked around and got a better view of the canyon. And I got a better view of Devin :)

I've modeled my love after these two. They have such a great marriage and always teach me to be selfless. Love you Mom and Dad!

Sometimes Mom likes to tease him...

...but it all works out in the end :)

When Devin was younger, he would go with his grandpa to the railroad tracks and place pennies on them. When the train runs them over they are completely flattened. This is him walking back after picking up his pennies from the railroad.

Later in the day we were totally pampered! Mom and I got pedicures and the boys went golfing! Afterwards came another "Reception."
This was the main course of our dinner. Devin ate twice that amount of steak, he was a hungry boy.

Sunday morning we walked around the grounds after breakfast and my sweet little sister wanted to play photographer and took a few pictures of us.

This was my reaction after she told me that the camera made me look fat. Don't you love family?? Just kidding Madi.

Last stop on this adventure. There were cute goats up on the hill and Devin and I had a blast trying to talk back to them. They even got in a couple of fights when we were up there. They literally "bashed heads."

We had so much fun this weekend and are so thankful to my amazing parents who took us! So many fun memories. Thanks for stopping by.

Copious

It seems to be that this is turning into a freebie blog which is not what I intended, but hey I love free stuff. One of my favorite freebies lately has been from the website Copious. When invited by a member you receive a $10 credit. Also, randomly they will give you free credits. A couple weeks ago I got an email saying they wanted to cheer up my Monday and gave me $10. I decided to order something and a week later I had this cute little freebie! It's a super adorable necklace that hangs about two inches above my belly button. I needed to use up another free credit today so I more effciently used my $10 and got a necklace and a pair of earrings. I went just over $10 and ended up paying 42 Cents. Not a bad deal if you ask me!
Anyways I thought I would share my good fortune with you and post the link for your $10 freebie. There are lots of cute items under $10 and many have free shipping so check it out and let me know if you get something!!
